wah.. i was having dinner juz now and the tv was on and i happened to see that ch5 is going to show prison break on tv! hahaha.. labelled as new series... what to do? i'm fast. wahahaha!!!

guess wat? i succumbed to temptation. i started watching prison break. and like OH MY GOSH!! it s freaking exciting lah! like.... michael is damn smart can? alright alright.. all you pple who ve watched it already, like at season 2? you knw, some pple just ain t got the time like you to watch so much ok? well.. considering that i ve only just watched finish season 1 of desperate housewives?
i think michael's tattoo is damn cool lah.. i wanna see his tattoo carefully man. like follow how he planned his tattoo to give him the information he needs? you think it's really possible? that he can plan and layer his tattoos to hide it from the casual glance and yet it can hold every single bit of information he needs? i m in 2 minds abt this leh. like quite hard to believe you knw? but i still think the story line is very good lah. 
anyway.. i m now at season 1 episode 6.. i juz watched the opening of this episode, where michael had a very close call with the sudden night bed check? how the hell did he come back in time man?! and his cell mate totally didn t knw? or was he just a very good actor? hahaha..
well. if someone can answer my few questions, i'll super appreciate it ya?
now.. back to watching episode 6... 
p/s: i m sure i ll get a heart attack soon man. from all that suspense and excitement.. my heart keeps threatening to stop n pop out of my mouth!!

5 weeks into school...and a "perverted" lecturer!

5 weeks into school already. can't believed it has flew by so fast! i need to buck up man. im already beginning to fall behind in my work.. sigh. on top of that, im still not getting enough sleep! gosh. dun really know where all my time is disappearing to! hahah. im alwys told its coz i stay in hall, thats why my time is sucked away.. but if i were at home, i totally wont even study lah! haha! so by staying in hall, im also studying man.. but its not enough lah..
today, im blogging coz i wanna record down this "conversation" my lecturer had with one student during lecture. he was mainly talking to everyone but had involved the student in the discussion lah 
the module is SHE: safety, health and environment. it's abt safety basically. the lecturer had juz mentioned something about risk assessment and talked abt the risks undertaken when going on dates with the opposite sex...

"subtle" and ambiguous remarks lah! juz that this is by far the funniest liao now, would this constitute sexual harressment? HAHAHA!!! time to ask my law mates man.

Start of School.

finally. sch has started.. FINALLY! hahaha.. got so sick of going back to navy for the hols man. it's like. so much things to do. so little time. means slp is forsaken. argh. the only good thing is i managed to visit the gym more often. oh wait. there was another good thing. i got my COC! haha!! finally. jem was saying thats it's long overdue man. haha. he thinks i shld have gotten it waaay earlier.
i digress: for all u non-navy pple, COC is certificate of competency. it basically certifies that i am now competent in my decision making and ship knowledge to take charge of duties. prior to getting this cert, every duty i also muz understudy and try to get competent.
yeah. even during the assessment, i thot the fire drill part was ok. i was quite confident. but the table top theory assessment was quite shit man. i mean i felt i totally screwed it up! but guess the x-man ( Maj Xavier lahz. lolx) thot i was still good enough.
pity though that i only got it at the last moment. coz i couldnt be in charge of more duties! haha.. can u believe it? juz b4 getting, i was totally sick n tired of doing duties. but once i got it, i couldnt get enough of doing! haha. well. my weekend understudy duty used to be like this:
0800H: report for duty. settle any duty problems like logistic or manpower issues. u nv knw when someone would decide not to turn up n off his phone! lolx.
0830H: take over duty watch from the previous day's duty and brief the guys on your expectations and relevant information needed for the duty. usually is the duty officer do all these lah. but as understudy, we're training to be duty officers so we do wan lor.
from then on, it's either time spent to get to knw the ship, or for the appointment holders to question and test us and sign the taskbook. and of course lunch!
usually about 1600H: then it'll be time for firedrill. this has 2 aims, to practise the guys to make sure theyre ready to handle anything shld it happen. it is also for us understudy-ers to practise our decision making and command and control of the situation ah.
then it's usually dinner and then 2000H rounds, where we go for our inspection of the ships in harbour. followed by a movie session ususally, and pass midnight, there's another rounds.
so once i got my COC, i contributed back to the ship by doing one duty, so an appointment holder didnt have to do! my day then was like this:
0830H: report for duty. observe my friends giving the brief coz they were still understudying. (i have more experience than them lah. thats y i got assessed first. plus i was going back for studies lah. )
after that, i went into a room a took a nap! i woke up for lunch, then went back to sleep! hahaha!!!
i woke up again when it was time for the firedrill, and for the first time, i went to conduct firedrill! instead of learning how to handle a fire, i went to learn how to simulate and conduct one! hahaha!!! cool man!
yeah. so that's basicallly the difference with being a COC holder and COC-less ah.
and school's starting. i can chuck all the navy stuff back in the storeroom already.

i guess u all have heard already.. Lena will be back tonight, around midnight singapore time.. the wake will be held from monday 12 june. cortege leaves on wednesday, 14 june at 2pm for mandai crematorium.
it's at 18 sembawang hills drive. thats in the housing estate opposite st nick's..
thats all i guess..

at 7.53am vancouver time i received an update from the relatives in canada/alaska..
they would be meeting the undertaker at 11am vancouver time. they will also be going down to the accident site before going over to Lena's hostel in alaska..

From the coroner's report, cause of death was severe head injury. Even if she was saved, she would most likely have suffered brain damage. Death occured soon after impact. ann (Lena's sister) and her aunt will be seeing Lena in 4 hours. (estimated at 12.15pm singapore time)

Still can't believe you're gone.. Lena-na

i was at the gym yesterday when my mum called me at 6pm, crying badly. she had news that Lena was involved in a car accident and had passed away. she asked me to see if i could find out any news coz all that our families had were sketchy details.. shocked. i was kind of in a daze. how could this happened? why did it happened? most importantly.. what happened..
im penning these down from what ive found out, so you all, close friends, classmates, hall mates, buddies.. can know what happened to our beloved Lena.
Lena was in alaska for work and travel. she had gone there with 3 friends after completing her final semester in NUS. on the fateful day of 5th Jun 2006, at 8am singapore time, Lena, derlyn and their supervisor were heading to canada (im not sure which part though..) for leisure. they were intending to go sightseeing and horseback riding.. after crossing the border, derlyn took over the wheel. she was travelling at 25kmph (or was it mph? i'll need to check) down the uneven and narrow highway, when in the opposite direction was an oncoming car. seeing that it was quite close them, derlyn kept the car to the right to give way. unknownly, the edge of the road was a step higher than the sides (probably grass or sand i guess) and it went over the edge. trying to bring the car back on the road, derlyn turned to the left..
at this point, the car flipped over onto its side, dragged along the ground for a short distance before halting. looking back, derlyn n their supervisor were shocked to find Lena not in the back seat. its only a guess that she was thrown out the window. (my mum also thinks Lena was probably asleep. coz she shld have been able to brace herself when something happened..) with the help of passers-by, they got out of the car and found that some others had already help pull Lena away from the car from fear of it toppling over. checking Lena, it was found she still had a pulse and was still breathing. but she was unconscious. with none of them carrying a mobile phone, they appealed to those around to help call for help. unfortunately with the lack of mobile coverage, many didnt have a signal. derlyn wanted to flip the car back and drive Lena to the nearest hospital (which was almost an hour and a half away). but one passer-by who knew first aid felt that being unsure of Lena's injuries, it would be best to wait for the paramedics.
They ensured that Lena wasnt choking on anything but she had blood in her mouth gurgling so they helped her to her front, to ensure she didnt choke on her blood. when the paramedics arrived 45mins later, they found Lena not breathing and there was also no pulse. derlyn n their supervisor were told that there was nothing they could do already. derlyn argued whether they could still bring her to the hospital, coz even if they didnt have the right equipment then, there had to be something they could do on the way! but they were told that Lena had passed away even before they arrived. From the point of impact to the passing, Lena didnt regain consciousness.
As of now, Lena's elder sister, her friend and our mutual aunt have gone over to canada to settle what needs to be settled. if you're friends of Lena, you can check back here for updates when i have any news.

Lena. cousin. friend. its so hard to come to terms with this news. we kept talking abt meeting up. us smartlabians. but always someone couldnt make it. we thot we could do it once you came back. now.. there'll never be that chance again. me n u were one of the first students of hazel. we all were the first batch of smartlabians. the name we call ourselves. from sec sch o levels to jc a levels. hours spent there learning, studying, laughing, joking. those days were fun. carefree.
do you remember the brinjal pencil case you got? remember how samuel went to buy the banana version just coz it looked fun to do so? how we all laughed at him for actually using that pencil case. and you kept saying that only the coolest used them..
i stare at ur msn nick. i think about the last time we talked online. that was before you left for alaska. i stare at it now. wondering when i'll get to talk to you again. i still can't believe youll never come online again. no window will ever pop up with your nick there.
when i first heard the news.. part of me was hoping there was a mistake. i hoped that somehow.. you were still alright. that it took so long for me to accept doesnt help anything.
it is so ironic. that ur last msn nick was "0 days to alaska! I love you all and I'm gonna miss you all". something along those lines.. i never thought that would be your last message to us cousin. its so ironic!
"hey cousin". that was the way we addressed each other recently. now therell be noone for me to call out in this way. ill never receive another sms or msn msg which starts with that.. i knw ill definitely miss that cousin.
it's all been so sudden. i can scarcely believe its true.. even now... i busied myself today. calling up derlyn in alaska. finding out what happened coz i think im the only link since noone could reach her.. (thanks janet for the number. that was my ONLY way to contact them in the end..) den i made sure i could pass what i knw to your family. it was only these that prevented me from sitting and staring into space. nothing seems to matter any more.. everything seems so trivial..
i'm missing you already. i really didnt miss you until you were gone. how true that old saying is.
i still can't believe you're gone cousin... still can't...

Barcalona Triumphs.

ill try my best to blog abt my life tmrw.. its been so many months! haha. paiseh paiseh lah..
also.. no need pictures for this entry lah.. no need to entice u here. hahahaa.. if ure reading this, u already like my works! hahahahaha..
for now.. barca triumphs over 10 men arsenal..
well.. im sure u can get commentary on many MANY other sites so i wont go into that. what i want to talk abt are the main talking points of the match.. my opinions and views lah. read on if u wish.. just keep in mind, im neither a barcalona nor arsenal fan..
first up. the sending off. in my view, the referee was right here. eto'o WAS on a goal scoring opportunity and lehmann was rightfully dismissed. yeah. he was a little unlucky lah. he slid in, eto'o jumped a little early. end result, when he was landing back on the ground (after his brief and futile fight with gravity ) he hit lehmann's hand. oh well! so.. as u all knw, arsenal went on score a goal and successfully shut barca out for the first half and some of the 2nd. now, if arsenal succeeded in doing that for the rest of the match and won, they really must thank lehmann lah. he got himself red carded to benefit his team. i mean! 1 on 1. striker is eto'o leh! 99.9% will score liao lor. so i think he did quite smartly to prevent barca taking the early lead..
well.. arsenal did bloody well to hold back barca for so long. but with only 10 men.. it was always going to be a battle in vain. against barca.. plus 10 men! what can u expect?!
sigh. but a really good match had to be marred by some really really bad referee-ing. how sad.
the freekick leading to arsenal's goal.. very well arguable. what was the linesman looking at?! 
no contact, no hit... foul? shld be a DIVE lah!!! we got a professional diver here leh! throw him in the sea lah. he belongs there.
next. henry's yellow card. what..the..HELL!??!! henry slid in. wins the ball fair and square. the opponent had already tried to kick the ball. because of henry's sliding tackle, he kicks henry. he goes to ground. he holds his leg. and wins a bloody yellow card against henry? thats just bad referee-ing man.  that referee doesnt deserve to ref such a high profile match. what had he done previously to be awarded this privilege? gosh..
ok. thats abt it for my ranting. lolx. and to think i dont really support either team. that just not too long ago (last season) i really hated arsenal for their attitude towards van nistelrooy after he missed the penalty. nope. it's not a turn around from me. ive always maintained that arsenal does play good and entertaining football. and basically im a fan of attractive football. same goes for barca. though i prefer real madrid because beckham's there but their aint performing man. haiz..

Another Dubious Parking Sign

i seem to see so many dubious signs in parking lots. First was the one in Holland Village i mentioned in my last post. Then this time is one at bernard's place at depot road..
this was btw taken at night. don't know how come it turned out this way also..
anyway, so i was there at night. abt 12. fine! early morning!
then was debating whether i should put night coupon to save my ass, or risk getting booked. but looking at the signboard, it states the parking charges for 7.00AM - 10.30PM right? what about after? i was skeptical as hdb carparks usually charged night parking of $2 as well. but apparantly, for this carpark, it was not to be.
yes, the multistory carpark required motorist to put the night parking coupon but the open air one didn't! hahahah.. so now i knw. no more illegal parking when i visit bernard already. the carpark's free after 10.30PM!
